The Renault Type FE or 18 CV was an early passenger car model from Renault .
description
The national licensing authority granted its approval on September 8, 1917. The predecessor was the Renault Type DX , which was manufactured until 1914. Production ended in 1918. The successor was the Renault Type FS .
A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a 95 mm bore and 160 mm stroke produced 22 hp from a displacement of 4536 cm³ . The rear wheels were driven by a cardan shaft . The top speed was between 64 km / h and 75 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
With a wheelbase of 355.5 cm and a track width of 145 cm, the vehicle was 484.5 cm long and 176 cm wide. The turning circle was 14 to 15 meters. The chassis weighed 1000 kg. Only a touring car for the military has survived.
