The Renault Nerva Grand Sport was a passenger car model of the interwar period of Renault . The type code was Type ABM .

description

The national approval authority approved the first version on March 22, 1935. The predecessor was the Renault Nervastella Grand Sport . In 1937 production ended without a successor.

The water-cooled eight - cylinder engine with 85 mm bore and 120 mm stroke had a displacement of 5447 cm³ . The power was transmitted to the rear axle via a cardan shaft .

Type ABM 3

One source mentions a wheelbase of 321 cm and a track width of 145.4 cm. Another source gives 319 cm wheelbase, 495 cm vehicle length and 188 cm vehicle width. The turning circle was given as 15.5 meters. The chassis weighed 1350 kg. Are known sedan , convertible and roadster . There were four horizontal ventilation slots of different lengths in the sides of the bonnet. At the front there were two short bumpers to the left and right of the license plate.

The only remaining vehicle of this version, incorrectly called the Nervastella Grand Sport and equipped with the ventilation slots of the ABM 5 type, was auctioned on June 10, 2013 for 255,060 euros .

Type ABM 5

The type ABM 5 followed in July 1935. With a wheelbase of 321 cm, the vehicles were 491 cm long and 175 cm wide. They had four to five vents in the sides of the hood, closely spaced, the top four of which were the same length. The front bumper was in one piece and curved down in the middle. In addition to the three previous body variants, a coupé with three seats was in the range. 151 vehicles were built by July 1936.

Type ABM 7

The type ABM 7 was presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1936. Production ran from September 15, 1936 to July 19, 1937. 110 HP engine output has been handed down. There were six ventilation openings in the shape of a parallelogram on the sides of the bonnet . The front bumper was one piece and straight. Renault manufactured 55 sedans, 22 convertibles, 22 roadsters and 5 coupes, a total of 104 vehicles.

In 1938 the model was still offered. The only available limousine was now 508 cm long.
