The Renault Type CB was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 12/16 CV and from 1911 12 CV .

description

The national licensing authority granted its approval on December 21, 1910. The model replaced the Renault Type BZ and remained in production until 1912. The successor was the Renault Type DG .

A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a bore of 80 mm and a stroke of 120 mm produced 11 to 12 hp from a displacement of 2413 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 38 km / h to 56 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

The normal chassis had a wheelbase of 305 cm and a track width of 134 cm. This made the vehicle 420 cm or 421 cm long and 160 cm or 161.5 cm wide. A particularly low chassis with a 329.5 cm wheelbase and 134 cm track width enabled bodies 446 cm long and 161.5 cm wide. The turning circle was given as 11 meters. The chassis weighed 750 kg, the complete vehicle 1500 kg. There was a choice of double phaeton , torpedo , sedan , landaulet and coupé . The chassis cost between 9,000 and 9,600 francs .

The auction house RM Auctions auctioned on 18 January 2008, a Coupe de Ville 1912 for 269,500 dollars . Bonhams also offered a Coupé de Ville from 1912 on September 26, 2009 and expected a price of 96,000 to 100,000 euros .
