motor race
The American William Gould Brokaw fielded a 60 hp vehicle in the first Vanderbilt Cup race on October 8, 1904 on Long Island ( New York ) (start number 11). The driver was Brokaw's private chauffeur Maurice Bernin , and Felix Prossen drove as a mechanic . The vehicle failed with a broken cardan shaft. No other copies are known; both William Kissam Vanderbilt II (1878-1944), the initiator of the racing series, as well as Brokaw, however, suggested other Renault racing cars. The brand was then represented at the Vanderbilt Cup in 1905 ( Ferenc Szisz , 5th place) and 1908 ( Lewis Strang , failure).
