Clio Renault Sport
In the summer of 2006, the third generation of the Clio also came to dealers as a sports version RS .
The 2.0-liter 16V engine has an output of 145 kW (197 hp) and transmits the power to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The maximum torque is 215 Newton meters at 5,550 rpm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km / h should take place in 6.9 seconds, the top speed is 215 km / h (now with a changed gear ratio 223 km / h).
Many technical improvements such as aerodynamics, steering and driving behavior have been made. The wheelbase has been increased by 10 mm to 2,590 mm, which improves road holding. The brakes have been modified, the RS has a four-piston brake system from Brembo ; thus the Clio should be able to be braked from 100 km / h to 0 km / h in less than 35 meters.
On board there are six airbags, many storage compartments and a maximum storage volume of 1,050 liters. The Clio consumes almost 10 liters of super.
From 2007 there was another version of the Clio RS , the Clio Renault Sport F1-Team R27, which was produced in limited numbers. This model has the same engine as the normal Clio RS, but also has Recaro bucket seats and anthracite-colored rims , among other things . By the end of production in 2009, 3,367 vehicles had left the factory in Dieppe, France . In Germany, the base price of this F1 edition was 24,900 euros.
In mid-2009, the Clio RS also received a facelift. In addition, the output was increased to 148 kW (201 PS). There was also a cup version that is more tightly tuned thanks to a stripped-down equipment and sports suspension with modified springs / dampers.
rally
In rallying, the Clio III is successfully used in group R3.
