The Renault Type N (c) was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 10/16 CV .

description

The model was presented at the Paris Motor Show in December 1902 . On February 7, 1903, a report appeared in La France Automobile . In October 1903 the Renault Type Q followed as its successor.

A two-cylinder engine with a 90 mm bore and 100 mm stroke produced 10 hp from a displacement of 1272 cm³ . One source indicates a bore of 90 to 100 mm, a stroke of 100 to 120 mm, a displacement of 1272 to 1885 cm³ and a power of 10 to 16 hp. The side-mounted water cooler had twelve cooling elements. The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The top speed was specified as 37 km / h to 65 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 220 cm, the vehicle was 320 cm or 330 cm long and 150 cm wide. The chassis weighed 550 kg, the complete vehicle 900 kg to 950 kg. There was a choice of tonneau , double phaeton and special bodies.

The similarly designed and presented at the same time Renault Type N (a) had a four-cylinder engine with the same cylinder dimensions. Outwardly, it differed from slightly larger dimensions in that its cooler had 18 cooling elements.

On November 4, 2016, the Bonhams auction house auctioned a vehicle from 1903 with the British registration number BS 8243 for 148,948 euros.
