The Renault Talisman is a passenger car model from the French car manufacturer Renault . It is offered as a four-door notchback sedan and a five-door station wagon and is assigned to the middle class . Renault itself speaks of the upper middle class. It replaces the Laguna and the Latitude sedan .

history

The series was presented in September 2015 at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main and has been available in stores since February 2016. The talisman is produced at the Renault plant in the French city of Douai . The talisman uses the "Common Module Family" (CMF) of the Renault-Nissan Alliance. This allows vehicles from various market segments to be built based on reused components. The talisman shares large modules with the Renault Espace .

In February 2020, Renault announced that the talisman would be visually redesigned in summer 2020.

The Renault Talisman has been offered in Korea as the Samsung SM6 since 2016 , while the Samsung SM7 was exported to China as the Renault Talisman between 2012 and 2016 .

Technical specifications

Initially, three diesel and two petrol engines should be available. The three diesel engines produce 81, 96 or 118 kW, the two petrol engines 110 or 147 kW. The petrol and the most powerful diesel are only to be offered in conjunction with a dual clutch transmission with six (for diesel engines) or seven (for petrol engines) gear stages. Customers can only choose between automatic and manual transmissions for small and medium-sized diesels. Renault specifies combined consumption values between 5.6 and 3.6 l / 100 km, which corresponds to CO 2 emissions between 132 g / km and 95 g / km.

Furnishing

The Talisman can be ordered in five different equipment lines:

Life

In this basic configuration , the Talisman offers two-zone automatic air conditioning , keycard hands-free , and a rear parking aid .

Zen

Identical to "Life" except for details of the color scheme.

Business

Like "Zen", but with additional equipment.

Intens

In addition to Life, the Talisman primarily offers more assistance systems:

There are also full LED headlights including cornering lights and full LED rear lights as well as seat heating for the driver and front passenger. In the infotainment area , the Talisman has a 22 cm touchscreen that occupies the upper part of the center console in portrait format . This offers extensive personalization of both the infotainment functions and the storage of seat and mirror positions.

Initial Paris

Renault calls the highest equipment line “Initiale Paris”. In addition to "Intens", the talisman offers further assistance systems:

"Initiale Paris" also includes nappa leather seats , comfort headrests, massage seats and a nappa leather steering wheel. In addition, there is an adaptive chassis and dynamic all-wheel steering (4-Control), which is a special feature in this vehicle class.

The driver can choose different driving modes (Comfort, Sport, Eco, Neutral as well as an individually definable mode), in which the response of the engine, the power assistance of the steering, the automatic air conditioning and the adaptive dampers of the chassis can be adjusted.

Grand tour

A few months after the sedan, the estate version of the Talisman called the Grand Tour was also launched on June 11, 2016 . A trunk volume of 572 liters is specified for the Grand Tour , which can be expanded to 1700 liters. This means that the trunk volume that has not been expanded is slightly smaller than that of the sedan, for which 608 liters are specified.

Registration numbers

From 2015 through December 2019 a total of 13,683 Renault Talismans were newly registered in Germany. Of these, 33 vehicles were registered in 2015, i.e. before the official start of sales.
