The Renault Type CD was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 18 CV .

description

The national licensing authority granted its approval on December 21, 1910. The vehicle was longer than its predecessor, Renault Type BF . Production ran until 1912. The successor was the Renault Type DO .

A water-cooled six - cylinder engine with a bore of 80 mm and a stroke of 140 mm produced 17 to 18 hp from a displacement of 4222 cm³ . As with so many models from the 1911 model year, Renault had increased the stroke by 20 mm compared to the previous year's model. The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 47 km / h to 71 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 358 cm or 358.4 cm and a track width of 145 cm, the vehicle was 485 cm long and 175 cm or 176 cm wide. The turning circle was given as 14 meters. The chassis weighed 1100 kg, the complete vehicle 2000 kg. There was a choice of double phaeton , touring cars , sedans and roadsters . The chassis cost 14,500 francs .
