The Renault Type HD was a passenger car model of the interwar period of Renault . It was also called 40 CV .

The national licensing authority granted its approval on May 9, 1919. The predecessor was the Renault Type FI . In 1920 the successor Renault Type GX followed .

The water-cooled six - cylinder engine with 100 mm bore and 160 mm stroke developed 62 hp from a displacement of 7540 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 53 km / h to 68 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
