The national licensing authority granted its approval on January 25, 1917. This was the only Renault model made both during and after the First World War . The predecessor was the Renault Type EF . Production ended in 1921. The Renault Type JM was the successor.
A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a bore of 80 mm and a stroke of 140 mm produced 15 hp from a displacement of 2815 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 38 km / h to 64 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
Until 1918
With a wheelbase of 306 cm and a track width of 134 cm, the vehicle was 431.5 cm long and 161.5 cm wide. The turning circle was given as 11 meters. The chassis weighed 800 kg. Only pickups and box vans have survived .
From 1919
Now the wheelbase was 335 cm. The vehicles were 456 cm long and 161 cm wide. The curb weight was given as 1600 kg. A particularly low chassis was about 20 cm longer. Another source names 310.5 cm wheelbase, 134 cm track width, 437.1 cm vehicle length and 161.5 cm vehicle width for the normal chassis and 334.5 cm wheelbase and 456 cm vehicle length with the same track width and vehicle width for the low chassis. Narrated are touring cars , limousine and Landaulet .
On September 1, 1919 the normal chassis cost 18,000 francs , a touring car from the factory 23,000 francs and the low chassis 19,800 francs. The traditional prices from March 1921 are: 24,000 francs for the normal chassis, 29,000 francs for the touring car, 34,000 francs for a limousine with an open driver's compartment, 35,000 francs for a limousine and 25,000 francs for the low chassis.
RM Auctions auctioned a 1919 white torpedo for $ 49,500 on October 12, 2012 . A red touring car and a limousine from 1920 are in the Cité de l'Automobile - Musée National - Collection Schlumpf in Mulhouse .
