The Renault Type I was an early passenger cars from Renault . It was only available as a sports car with a two-seater Phaeton body.
description
The by Renault Type G derived model can be used as successor to the Renault Type E are considered. On May 13, 1902, the national licensing authority granted the license. On June 26, 1902, La Locomotion Automobile reported the model. Production ended in the same year. Successor was Renault Type P .
A water-cooled single - cylinder engine with a 100 to 120 mm bore and 110 to 130 mm stroke produced 10 hp from a displacement of 864 to 1470 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The top speed was specified as 49 km / h to 89 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
The chassis was 250 cm long and 80 cm wide. The curb weight was 400 kg, although it remains unclear whether this information only refers to the chassis or to the complete vehicle.
