The Renault Laguna is a mid-range vehicle from the car manufacturer Renault . It replaced the Renault 21 built since spring 1986 .

The first Laguna was marketed from January 1994. Initially, only the hatchback sedan came on the market, while the station wagon did not follow until autumn 1995.

The second generation, built between spring 2001 and late summer 2007, was the first car to receive the best possible rating of five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test. The third edition was introduced in autumn 2007.

The Laguna was manufactured at Renault's Sandouville plant near Le Havre in French Normandy .

In the summer of 2015, production of the Laguna ended after 22 years. It was replaced by the talisman from autumn 2015 .
