The market launch in Southeast Asia took place in autumn 2007, but in Europe only in late summer 2008. The concept vehicle Koleos Concept was first presented in 2006 at the Paris Motor Show. It was developed by Renault's design department in collaboration with Renault Samsung Motors' design center in Korea. In East Asia, the vehicle is sold as the Samsung QM5 . Renault presented the second generation of the Koleos at the Beijing Motor Show 2016. The five-seater is again based on the Nissan X-Trail and is again being built in Busan.
