Monto ( "month" ) is a monthly news magazine in Esperanto that publishes articles from the fields of politics , culture and economics . It is produced in Belgium and has around 1,700 subscribers in 65 countries.
The magazine has 100 correspondents in 45 countries and only publishes articles in Esperanto , no translations. Monto was founded in 1979; the first edition appeared on January 15, 1980. All the articles in MONTOO are not produced by trained editors, but by residents of the country that the respective article focuses on, i.e. amateurs .
