description

This was both the first Renault with a two-cylinder engine and the first Renault with a self-developed and manufactured engine. The presentation took place in April 1902. The national licensing authority granted its approval on May 13, 1902. The designer was Louis Renault . Production ended in 1902. The successor was the Renault Type N (c) .

Except for the engine, the model was similar to Renault Type G and Renault Type J . Its own two-cylinder engine with a 100 mm bore and 110 mm stroke produced 14 hp from a 1728 cm³ displacement . One source gives a 100 to 110 mm bore, 110 to 120 mm stroke and 1728 to 2281 cm³ displacement. The water cooler was mounted on the side of the engine. The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The top speed was specified as 46 km / h to 74 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.

With a wheelbase of 190 cm, the vehicle was 300 cm long, 145 cm wide and 150 cm high. The empty weight was 800 kg. There was a choice of tonneau and landaulet .
