The Renault Type DJ was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was also called 16 CV .
description
The national licensing authority granted its approval on January 16, 1913. The predecessor was the Renault Type CC . In 1914 production ended without a successor.
A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a 90 mm bore and 140 mm stroke produced 17 hp from a displacement of 3562 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 52 km / h to 78 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
With a wheelbase of 339.6 cm and a track width of 145 cm, the vehicle was 468.5 cm long and 176 cm wide. The turning circle was given as 14 meters. The chassis weighed 1000 kg. The choices were torpedo and limousine . The chassis cost between 12,000 and 12,400 francs .
