The Renault KJ was a passenger car model of the interwar period of Renault . It was also called 6 CV .
description
The national licensing authority granted its approval on July 7, 1922. The predecessor was the Renault Type FD . Production ended in 1923. In the course of the model upgrade, the type KJ 1 appeared , which was approved on November 28, 1922 and was in the range until 1924. Its successor was the Renault Type MT .
The water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a 58 mm bore and 90 mm stroke had a displacement of 951 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 45 km / h to 60 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
With a wheelbase of 245 cm and a track width of 115 cm, the vehicle was 313.5 cm long and 131 cm wide. Another source mentions 335 cm in length and 137 cm in width. A website confirms 335 cm in length and 137 cm in width. There, the height is also indicated as 172 cm, but not to which body shape the height refers. The complete vehicle weighed 860 kg.
Type KJ
As usual from Renault, this version had a narrow bonnet. The radiator placed behind the engine was wider and higher. The turning circle was given as 10 meters. The chassis weighed 440 kg. Narrated are roadster and sedan . The roadster cost 11,800 francs in October 1922 .
Type KJ 1
This version had a bonnet that was the same width and height as the radiator. The turning circle was now given as 11 meters. The chassis weighed 450 kg. From March 1924, front brakes were available for an extra charge of 1500 francs. In addition to the versions in the following table, there were pick-ups and box vans .

Sotheby’s put a 1923 vehicle up for auction on July 18, 1993, expecting $ 22,000 to $ 24,000 , but did not sell the vehicle. On June 21, 2009 a three-seater torpedo of the type KJ 1 was auctioned.
