The Saviem TP3 is an all-wheel drive version of the Renault Super Goélette SG2 or Saviem SG2 . The four-wheel drive Renault Saviem SG2 was presented at the Satory military exhibition in 1969. It succeeded the Renault R2087 in the same versions of the platform truck and chassis with a convertible top and a folding windshield. In the French army, the model replaced the Simca SUMB .
In addition, from the 1971 model year the Saviem TP3 4x4 was available for civil use. This was a panel van with all-wheel drive and a payload of 1.2 tons. A 2.6-liter petrol engine and a 3.3-liter diesel engine with direct injection under license from MAN , each with 75 hp and a 4-speed manual transmission, were used as drive . The curb weight is given as 3900 kg.
10,836 copies of the model were produced.
The French army replaced their copies with versions of the Citroën C25 and Peugeot J5 that had been converted to all-wheel drive by Dangel .
