The Renault Type SO was a passenger car model of the interwar period of Renault . It was also called 8 CV .
description
The national licensing authority granted its approval on June 27, 1928. The model was a variant of the Renault Monasix . There was no predecessor or successor. Production ended in 1929.
The water-cooled six - cylinder engine with a 58 mm bore and 93 mm stroke had a displacement of 1474 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft . The maximum speed was specified as 40 km / h to 53 km / h, depending on the gear ratio.
With a wheelbase of 265 cm and a track width of 130 cm, the vehicle was 370 cm long and either 145 cm or 155 cm wide. The vehicle had no bumpers . The turning circle was given as 11 meters. The chassis weighed 650 kg, the complete vehicle 1350 kg. Only landaulet has survived .
The Parisian taxi company Compagnie Générale des Voitures à Paris (G 3) used the vehicle as a taxi .
