Renault Clio IV (type X98) is the name of the fourth generation of the small car Clio from Renault .
Model history
The fourth generation Clio (type X98) premiered at the Paris Motor Show at the end of September 2012 and has been officially available since November 10, 2012.
It was officially presented as a five-door model, with the handles on the rear doors inconspicuously attached to the side window, making the car look like a three-door model. A real three-door is no longer offered for the time being. The station wagon called Grand Tour followed in March 2013. The fourth Clio generation is based on a modified version of the Renault-Nissan platform B, the original shape of which was already used in the two previous models.
In 2016 the model got a facelift. Since then, LED headlights have also been available.
The successor model, the Clio V , was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019 .
Engines
As for the engines, there is a newly developed three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 0.9 l displacement and 66 kW (90 PS), which, as an energy version with automatic start-stop and energy recovery, consumes 4.5 l super / 100 km. There is also the 1.2-liter four-cylinder with now 54 kW (73 hp).
The TCe 120 came onto the market in spring 2013. The four-cylinder turbo engine has an output of 88 kW (120 PS), has a maximum torque of 190 Nm and is equipped with a double clutch transmission (EDC). For the diesel engines, the 1.5-liter dCi familiar from the previous model is available in a revised version with an output of 55 kW to 81 kW. 5 and 6 speed manual transmissions are available.
The Renault ZOE electric car with a 65 kW electric motor, based on the Clio IV, has also been on offer since the end of 2012 .

Clio Renault Sport
Since spring 2013, based on the fourth Clio generation, a sport version (as Clio Renault RS (Trophy) ) has been available again, which was presented at the Paris Motor Show in September 2012. A 1.6-liter turbo gasoline engine with 147 kW (200 hp) is used in the new model. In connection with the new engine, the Clio has a six-speed double clutch transmission. The standard consumption has decreased by two liters compared to its predecessor and is therefore 6.2 liters per 100 km. The torque, however, has increased by 24 Nm and is 240 Nm at 1750 rpm.
With a so-called cup chassis, the Clio has been lowered by five millimeters compared to the standard model. Like all Clio, the new RS is delivered exclusively as a five-door model with hidden rear door handles.
