The Renault Type AB was an early passenger car model from Renault . It was the first time Renault used a two-letter type code. It was also called 14 CV .

This 1905 model was based on the Renault Type X offered at the same time . There were the versions Type AB (a) and Type AB (b) .

A water-cooled four - cylinder engine with a 90 mm bore and 120 mm stroke produced 14 hp from a displacement of 3054 cm³ . The engine power was sent to the rear axle via a cardan shaft .

The wheelbase of the Type AB (a) was shorter than the 272 cm of the Type X (a) and that of the Type AB (b) was longer than the 291 cm of the Type X (b) . However, exact dates are not available.
