The Alpine A110 (type designation: AEF , development code: AS1) is a sports car manufactured since 2017 by the Alpine brand belonging to the French automobile manufacturer Renault .

history

After the three concept vehicles Alpine A110-50 (presentation: Monaco Grand Prix , May 2012), Alpine Celebration (presentation: Le Mans 24-hour race , June 2015) and Alpine Vision (presentation: Monaco , February 2016), Renault provided it Production vehicle at the 87th Geneva Motor Show in March 2017. The first copies of the two-seater, which is supposed to be reminiscent of the Alpine A110 built between 1961 and 1977 , were delivered from autumn 2017. In the development phase , from 2013 mulettos with the body of the Lotus Exige were used.

After more than 20 years, the Renault Group brought another vehicle onto the market under the Alpine brand after the A610 . Like the older models, the new A110 is built in Dieppe , France . Vehicles were initially sold in 1955, and they were offered as a Première Edition . These A110s were delivered from the beginning of 2018.

At the 88th Geneva Motor Show in March 2018, Alpine presented the A110 in two new versions that are no longer limited. The Pure variant is a weight-optimized version of the sports car, while the Légende variant is trimmed for comfort.

The more powerful A110S variant was presented in June 2019 . It went on sale in October 2019.

At the International Automobile Festival at Invalides in Paris in January 2020, the manufacturer presented the model as the A110 SportsX concept vehicle . It has a higher chassis and pays homage to the vehicle that won the Monte Carlo Rally in 1973 .

Alpine wanted to present two new special models of the sports car at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2020. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the auto salon on February 28, 2020 was canceled and the premiere took place on the Internet. The Légende GT , limited to 400 copies, is based on the Légende model , but also has amber-colored seats from Sabelt and an interior in this color. The special model is powered by a 185 kW (252 PS) petrol engine. The Color Edition is the pioneer of a special model series with exclusive paintwork that is reissued every year. In the Color Edition 2020 the A110 will be painted in the color "Sunflower Yellow". The model is powered by a 215 kW (292 PS) petrol engine.

In Germany, the vehicles are only sold by eleven dealers, in Switzerland by five dealers, in Luxembourg by one dealer and in Austria by three dealers (as of July 2018).

technology

The sports car paid by a maximum of 185 kW (252 hp), is driven turbocharged 1.8-liter gasoline engine that accelerates the A110 in 4.5 seconds from 0 km to 100 / h: (M5P 4xx engine designation). This has also been used in the Renault Espace V with less power since July 2017 . The mid-engine is installed transversely in front of the rear axle.

The body of the rear-wheel drive car consists of 96 percent aluminum , which results in an empty weight of around 1,100 kilograms; Without special equipment, the manufacturer specifies the curb weight from 1080 kilograms. Due to the mid-engine, the vehicle has two luggage compartments: 96 l at the front and 100 l at the rear.

The A110S uses the same engine, but this has a maximum output of 215 kW (292 hp). The sports car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds.

Motorsport

Based on the vehicle, there are the versions A110 Cup for a one-make series , A110 GT4 for the group GT4 and from 2020 for the rally -Use the A110 Rally.
