Claudiu Nicu Răducanu (born December 3, 1976 in Craiova , Dolj district ) is a former Romanian football player . He played a total of 165 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Spanish Primera División . In 2001 he won the Romanian championship with Steaua Bucharest and in the 2002/03 season he was the top scorer in Divizia A. His position is the attack .

Player career

Claudiu Răducanu started playing football in 1993 at the school sports club in his hometown. A year later he moved to Electroputere Craiova , which was renamed FC Extensiv Craiova in 1998 . He played his first game in Divizia A at the age of 17 on September 24, 1994 when he was defeated by FC Inter Sibiu . Before FC Extensiv had to relegate back to Divizia B at the end of the 1999/2000 season after only one year in the first division , Răducanu Craiova left during the winter break for Steaua Bucharest . There he advanced to the national team and at the end of 2003 moved to the Spanish first division club Espanyol Barcelona for just under € 1.5 million . In Spain he was able to secure the relegation of Espanyol Barcelona in the Primera División in the second half of the season . This aroused the interest of Arminia Bielefeld , who loaned the player for € 200,000 a year in the 2004/05 season. Here, however, he could not celebrate any success and only came to five season appearances for Arminia. Therefore, the club decided not to pull the previously negotiated purchase option and so Răducanu returned to Spain. But he no longer played a role in the plans of the then coach Miguel Ángel Lotina .

Therefore, Răducanu returned to Romania in the summer of 2005 . In the first round 2005/06 he played when FC Vaslui in the Divizia A , and then when adjacent FCM Huşi in the Divizia C . There he did not stay long, however, as he moved to the People's Republic of China in early 2006 to join the second division team Guangzhou Pharmaceutical FC . In January 2007 Răducanu moved back to Europe to the Cypriot first division club Nea Salamis Famagusta . In search of a new club, he took part in a trial training session at Sorrento Calcio 1945 from the Italian Serie C in October 2007 . From the beginning to mid-2008 Răducanu played for the Romanian first division club Universitatea Cluj , but could not prevent its relegation to League II . He then moved to the Azerbaijani first division club FK Xəzər Lənkəran for a year . In May 2009 it was announced that Răducanu will play in the 2009/10 season in the newly promoted League II Gaz Metan CFR Craiova .
