Custódio Miguel Dias de Castro (born May 24, 1983 in Guimarães , Portugal ) is a former Portuguese football player .

Career

society

Custódio started his professional career at Sporting Lisbon . He was trained as an attacking midfielder, but can be used in all midfield positions. In 2007 he moved to Russia for FK Dynamo Moscow . In 2008 he returned to Portugal and joined his hometown club Vitória Guimarães . After two seasons he moved to league rivals Sporting Braga .

In the semi-finals of the 2010/11 UEFA Europa League he scored the decisive 1-0 in the second leg against Benfica Lisbon with a header, after which his club reached the final against FC Porto because of the 2-1 in the first leg and the away goals rule .

During the 2014/15 winter break, Custódio moved to Akhisar Belediyespor in the Turkish Süper Lig . From the beginning of 2016 until his departure in summer 2017, he held the position of captain at Akhisar Belediyespor.

National team

On June 2, 2012, Custódio made his debut in the Portuguese national team after he was surprisingly nominated for the 2012 European Championship by national coach Paulo Bento .
