4-0-2 system
The so-called 4-0-2 system (or 6-2 system ) is a game system in volleyball . With this system, despite the rule of rotation that applies to volleyball, the greatest possible specialization of the individual players is achieved, combined with an increased variability of attack options. Usually, a pass position between position 2 and 3 is sought, very rarely between 3 and 4.
The name of the system comes from the specialization of the players: four designated attackers and two universal players (or six attackers, two of whom also act as players) act on the field.
In principle, the positions runner 1 , runner 6 and runner 5 of the 5-1 system are played in the 4-0-2 system , with the universal player at the back taking on the role of the player and the universal player in front acting as the diagonal player.
This system has the advantage that there are always 3 attackers available on the network. The disadvantage is that you need two universal players who must have both very good pass-through and attack options.
The only top team in the world that uses this system is the Cuban women's team ( Olympic champions 1992, 1996 and 2000).
