Primeira Divisão 1976/77

The Primeira Divisão 1977/78 was the 44th season of the top Portuguese division in men's football. It began on September 4, 1977 and ended on June 11, 1978.

21 years after the last championship, FC Porto became Portuguese champions for the sixth time. The title was achieved due to the better goal difference against the undefeated Benfica team. Of the four climbers, only Marítimo Funchal managed to stay up .
