The Primeira Divisão 1982/83 was the 49th season of the top Portuguese division in men's football. It began on August 22, 1982 and ended on June 5, 1983.

Benfica Lisbon became Portuguese champions for the 25th time. Fernando Gomes from FC Porto was awarded the Golden Shoe for his 36 goals .
