The Primeira Divisão 1945/46 was the twelfth season of the top Portuguese division in men's football. It began on December 9, 1945 and ended on May 26, 1946.

Belenenses Lisbon has secured the championship title for the only time so far . Belenenses coach Augusto Silva was the first Portuguese coach to win the championship. Before that, all championships were won by Hungarian coaches.

Until 1948, the teams that could qualify through the regional tournaments were eligible. Ascent and descent were only introduced afterwards.

This season the number of participating teams increased from ten to twelve. This season UD Oliveirense and SL Elvas competed for the first time.
