Career

Luís Filipe began his career at the Portuguese first division club Académica Coimbra . After a successful season he moved to the reserve team of Atlético Madrid , where he could not prevail. So he moved again to Portugal. This time to Sporting Braga , where he became a regular.

After the successful season at Braga, Sporting CP noticed the midfielder and signed him. Filipe stayed there for three years before being loaned out to União Leiria for six months . In six months he played fourteen games and scored two goals.

For the 2004–05 season he moved again. The goal was the flower island Funchal , where he joined the Club Marítimo and made his breakthrough. He was used in all 30 league games and has received various offers. So he moved again to Sporting Braga , where he shone with top performances for two years.

After the departure of João Pereira at Benfica Lisbon , the 1.77 m tall Portuguese replaced the right-back. After a rather average season in the capital, he was ousted by the Uruguayan Maximiliano Pereira and was then awarded to Vitória Guimarães .
