Career

In the club

Babb began his career in the youth teams of Newcastle United and Millwall FC . In 1990 he began his professional career at Bradford City before moving to Coventry City in July 1992 . After only two seasons, Babb announced his move to Liverpool FC . Liverpool paid what was then a record transfer for defenders in England. During his time at Liverpool he only managed one league goal, against his previous club of all places. After a short loan to Tranmere Rovers , Babb moved to Portuguese top club Sporting Lisbon on a free transfer . After two years in Portugal, Babb signed a contract with Sunderland AFC where he eventually retired.

In the national team
