FK Valmiera is a Latvian football club from Valmiera .
history
FK Valmiera was founded in 1996. The team played in their first season in the 1st līga , the second highest Latvian league. She finished second and thus achieved the relegation against the penultimate of the Virslīga . Valmiera won after two games against Skonto-Metāls 2-1 and thus rose to the highest Latvian football league.
Valmiera played in the Virslīga for seven years. After a seventh place in the first season, the teams always reached places five and six in the following years. After the 2003 season, despite a sixth place, the team had to return to the 1st līga due to financial difficulties.
