NK Lučko Zagreb , better known as NK Lučko (official club name), is a football club from Lučko , a district in the south-west of Zagreb , which in turn belongs to the Novi Zagreb district - zapad (New Zagreb West).

The NK Lučko plays its home games in the club's own stadium, the Stadion Lučko .

history

The association was founded in Lučko in July 1931 under the name SK Velebit , later renamed NK Velebit . After a series of name changes, the club was finally permanently renamed NK Lučko in February 1962 .

In 2009 the club was promoted to the second highest Croatian professional football league, the 2nd HNL . Two years later, the club rose for the first time in the top division, the 1st HNL . In that season, the club was 13th out of 16 places. Although the league would have actually been able to stay in the league, the club was relegated anyway, as the league was reduced from 16 to 12 teams in the following season and 4 instead of 2 clubs had to be relegated. Since then, NK Lučko has played continuously in the second highest division of Croatian professional football.
