NK Solin is a Croatian football club from the southern Croatian city of Solin .

history

The football club from Solin is the oldest sports club in the city, was founded in 1919 and is still quite successful today. It was founded under the name Dioklecijan , but in 1924 it was renamed NK Jadro . From 1931 onwards he only calls himself NK Solin . A year later, they became an official member of the Split sub-association, where they were represented until the association was dissolved in 1937 by the then government. After the Second World War, the association was re-established in 1945 as Fiskulturno Društvo (FD) Naprijed . A year later, the name is changed again to FD Cement Solin . It was not until 1951 that the association was called NK Solin again . He maintained this until the war in Croatia in 1991. The war brought some changes and the main sponsor was often changed, which resulted in an addition to the name. So they called themselves 1991–94 NK MAR Solin , 1995–97 NK Solin Kaltenberg and from 1999–2004 NK Solin Građa . Since 2004, as in the years in between, the name NK Solin has been used . Under this name you are currently represented in the second division, in which you have been since its foundation in 1991. NK Solin is the only club that has always played in the second division since it was founded.

successes

The greatest success was achieved in 1980/81 with reaching first place in the 1st Croatian Republic League (then the third division of Yugoslavia), and thus promotion to the second Yugoslav league. Before that, in 1974 they were first in the Dalmatian League and were promoted to the 1st Croatian Republic League. They stayed there until the rise in 1980/81. In 1978 they had also won first place in the 1st Croatian League, but at that time there was a relegation to promotion, which they had lost 1-0 and 0-2 against Segesta Sisak . After six years in the second division they had the chance to rise to the first division in 1989/90, but they failed in relegation to NK Trešnjevka Zagreb . A year later they were again relegated to promotion and defeated NK Samobor with 1: 1 and 0: 0, and NK Špansko Zagreb with 2: 0 and 1: 3. As a result of the war that began this year and the associated separation of the Croatian Football Association from the Yugoslavian football association, there were changes in the game system and NK Solin was placed in the second division. A year later they were again first in the second division, but tied on points and goals with second-placed NK Pomorac . Since both league games ended 0-0 in a direct comparison, there was a relegation game. This was decided by NK Pomorac with 1: 1 and 2: 1 for themselves. Since then you have been a permanent guest in the second division and had the chance of promotion again in 2001 when the first division was increased to 16 teams. But in the relegation they lost due to the away goals rule NK Marsonia Slavonski Brod with 5: 2 and 0: 3.
