Fatos Bećiraj ( Cyrillic  Фатос Бећирај , Albanian  Fatos Besim Beqiraj ; born May 5, 1988 in Peć , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Kosovo-born Montenegrin football player . He has been under contract with Wisła Krakow in Poland since August 2020 . Since June 8, 2019, he has been the record-breaking Montenegrin national player.

Career

society

Bećiraj began his career at KF Shqiponja before moving to city rivals KF Besa in July 2007 at the age of 17 . His good performances in the first half of the season in the Kosovar first division 2007/08 attracted the clubs from the region, and in the spring of 2008 he moved to the Montenegrin club FK Budućnost Podgorica . There he immediately became a regular player and made nine goals in 15 games in the second half of the season. He was with the team of Montenegrin football champions and reached the final of the Montenegro Cup, which was lost 5-6 on penalties. In the following two years Bećiraj scored 28 league goals in 62 games for the club from Podgorica and was the top scorer in the 2008/09 season with 18 goals.

On August 30, 2010 he moved to the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb . In 2014 he was on the field for the Chinese first division club Changchun Yatai , but returned to Europe during the winter break of 2014/15. After a year at FK Dinamo Minsk , he is now playing for the Russian club FK Dynamo Moscow . In January 2018 he moved to the Belgian first division club KV Mechelen on a free transfer .

National team

Bećiraj was nominated for the first time in 2009 by the then Montenegrin U-21 coach Dušan Vlaisavljević and won his first game on June 7, 2009 in qualifying for the 2011 U-21 European Championship against Kazakhstan. He made five caps for the U-21s before being nominated for the senior team for the qualifier against Italy. He came on in the 70th minute for Radomir Đalović .
