The stadium Aldo Drosina is a football stadium in the Croatian city of Pula , Istria . It seats 8,923 spectators. The football clubs NK Istra 1961 and at times also NK Istra Pula play their home games here.
history
The stadium was built in 1939 and named in 2003 after the coach and soccer player Aldo Drosina from Pula . At that time it held around 6,000 spectators.
In 2007, NK Istra moved to the ŠRC Uljanik Veruda Stadium in 1961. However, it did not meet the licensing requirements of the 1st Croatian League and so the club moved back to the Aldo Drosina stadium in 2011. Extensive renovation work began in 2009, was completed in summer 2010 and reopened on February 9, 2011 with a friendly international match between Croatia and the Czech Republic (4-2). After the renovation, the stadium meets the current UEFA criteria and currently holds 8,923 spectators.
