Marin Tomasov (born August 31, 1987 in Zadar ) is a Croatian football player who has been under contract with the Kazakh first division club FK Astana since 2018 .

career

Tomasov started playing football at his hometown club NK Zadar , where he went through all the youth teams. In 2006 he signed his first professional contract there and got the shirt with the number 14. During three seasons that he spent at the club, he played 72 games and scored 12 goals. In 2007 and 2008 he was called up nine times for the Croatian U21 national team, where he scored a goal. In summer 2009 he moved to one of the big clubs in Croatian football, HNK Hajduk Split . The transfer fee was over 350,000 euros. He was given the same shirt number in his new club.

In the first season at HNK Hajduk Split , he was used in the league and the cup a total of 22 times, but only eleven times in the starting line-up. He only scored two goals this season and although he was a twenty year old at the time, he was quite disappointed with his performances and said he would strike in the future.

He succeeded in this the next season. He played 26 games in the league (15 of them from the start), in which he scored four times. In the Europa League 2010/11 he was used nine times (in total in qualifying and in the group stage) and scored two goals.

Tomasov started the new season excellently. He managed the decisive goal in the 87th minute in the opening game against HNK Šibenik . He scored his next goal in the away game against NK Istra in 1961 and thus contributed to a 3-0 victory. In the next game against NK Zagreb , his opening goal fell in the 50th second. In the derby against RNK Split he scored very early again, but this time "only" in the 2nd minute.

In April 2012, the arbitration tribunal of the Croatian Football Association prematurely terminated its contract with the Split club due to a lack of salary payments. On June 18, 2012 Tomasov signed a three-year contract with the " Munich Lions ". He played 26 games in the 2012/13 season , scored two goals and prepared three more.

Morin Tomasov is married and has two children with his wife Bozena. The second child was born on November 24, 2014.
