Zollgrün is a district of the town of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

location

The street village of Zollgrün is located about two and a half kilometers northwest of the core town of Tanna on the winding and hilly state road 3002 . Neighboring towns are Schilbach , Künsdorf , Heinrichsruh , Oberoschitz and Mielesdorf .

geology

Geologically, the area is located in the southeast Thuringian slate mountains. The soils have a high proportion of fine earth and humus content and are therefore particularly productive and reliable under the climatic conditions. Spring troughs and narrow valley areas of the brooks are typical grassland locations. Agriculture is favored on plateau-like ridges, wavy plains and flat slopes. In other locations, forest use predominates.

history

Zollgrün was first mentioned in a document on June 15, 1342.

North of Zollgrün in the Wetterau there was once a castle in Burgstädtel, also called Schanzgraben. It probably served to secure the trade route Nuremberg - Leipzig. In 1842, after the castle hill was demolished, iron objects were found that confirm the location of the fortification. In 1672 the citizens of Zollgrün built a stone bridge over the Wettera . In the files, this was considered to be extremely remarkable, because it improved traffic over the from Regensburg to Hof via Schleiz and Gera in the Zollgrün area, because bridges were rare.

In 1923 Hanny Knoch from Hirschberg managed the manor in Zollgrün with 129 hectares.

Until 1945, factory owner Hartenstein from Plauen was owner of the school and the green mill until it was expropriated. The mill and the agricultural property with 23.56 hectares then had several forms of ownership in the GDR. Teachers, later farmers and hunters, were trained in the school premises.

Agriculture has always played an important and successful role in the village, even after the cooperatives were formed.

On January 1, 1974, Zollgrün was incorporated into the municipality of Tanna .

Attractions

economy

Agriculture still shapes the place. Multi-Agrar GmbH Tanna keeps dairy cows in Zollgrün.

Forstverwaltungs GmbH has moved into the Grünmühle. There is now a hunting school with vocational training in the school buildings.
