Mielesdorf is a district of the town of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Geography and geology

Mielesdorf is five kilometers north of Tanna in a plateau of the Southeast Thuringian Slate Mountains on average at 535 m above sea level. The district touches the Saxon border and is more than 75% bounded by the forest. The federal road 282 runs through the corridor and connects the place with the surrounding area.

Neighboring towns are the town of Tanna to the south, Zollgrün to the west , and the Saxon Langenbach to the east .

history

The place founded by the Sorbs was first mentioned in documents in 1445. In 1377 a gentleman from Miltisdorff was named in a dispute that was not recorded in a document.

The church was built in the 13th century.

In 1945 the American army shelled the village and eleven buildings fell to rubble.

On January 1, 1997, Mielesdorf was incorporated into Tanna.

The place was and is characterized by agriculture.
