Künsdorf is a district of the town of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

Geography and geology

To the west and north-west of the village there are wooded hills with slopes to the Bleilochtalsperre in the Saale valley . To the east, the corridor is divided or limited by the federal motorway 9 . The village can be reached via the local roads from Seubtendorf or Langgrün . The agricultural land is located on a high plateau, as is usually found in the south-east Thuringian slate mountains .

history

The well-kept place can look back on a history since 1267, because in that year it was first mentioned in a document. There are currently 200 people living in the village in well-tended four-sided courtyards. Künsdorf was and is an agriculturally oriented place with tourism.

The current church was built in 1719.

In 1806, Bavarian troops under Napoleon set off a fire in the village because the farmers in Seubtendorf were fighting against the invaders.

On April 15, 1945, American troops confiscated over half of the houses to house the soldiers.

On January 1, 1997, Künsdorf was incorporated into Tanna.

economy

After the Second World War, agriculture developed in the place according to the known measures. Today the farmers work in agricultural associations or are self-employed again.
