Langgrün is a district of the unified municipality of the town of Gefell in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Langgrün is to the west of the Federal Motorway 9 that runs past the district . The junction "Bad Lobenstein" over the federal road 90 outweighs the disadvantages. There is forest in front of both the west and east of the corridor. The corridor extends as far as the Franconian Forest area. Ranges of hills separate the corridors of the villages.

With the lines 720 and 721 of the KomBus transport company , Langgrün has connections to the cities of Schleiz , Bad Lobenstein and Hirschberg (Saale) .

Geologically, the Langgrün corridor is a typical location in the south-east Thuringian slate mountains. These soils are very fertile due to the high proportion of fine soil and humus content. Spring troughs and narrow valley areas of the brooks are typical grassland locations. Agriculture is favored on plateau-like ridges, undulating plains and flat slopes. In other locations, forest use predominates.

Langgrün was first mentioned in a document in 1302. In 1302 the place was called Ober- and Niedergrün.

A fair traditionally takes place one week after Easter , which has now expanded in type and size beyond the standards of the past.
