The Protestant village church Langgrün is in the Langgrün district of the country town of Gefell in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

The village church

Dates and deeds of the recent past are known, although the village church in the district has been standing for much longer. There is no documentary evidence to justify this. But: the first available evidence is the installation of the organ in 1820 by G. Ch. Hofmann from Neustadt bei Coburg . This was restored in 1994/95.

In the church tower there are three bells that were donated by Langgrun families to commemorate their sons who died in World War II . Two of them are made of steel and the smallest bell is made of bronze .

The cemetery

The cemetery is enclosed by a wall and a fence. It is closely related to the church and the morgue built in 1979 . Tombs from 1900 to after 1950 occupy the church and a listed grave of eleven concentration camp prisoners .
