geology

The village, which belongs to the Schleizer Oberland and the Thuringian Vogtland, is flanked to the right and left of the south-flowing stream by two plateau-like hills of the south-east Thuringian slate mountains. This is followed by a pine forest . The loamy, humus-rich soils are productive and reliable even in unfavorable weather conditions.

history

Dobareuth was first mentioned in a document in 1246.

Until 1945, the state estate with its tenant was decisive for the development of the place. In 1923 Max Heydemann cultivated 203 hectares. After the Second World War, the farm was expropriated in accordance with the land reform laws in East Germany and divided between smallholders and resettlers. Later these farmers formed an LPG . After the fall of the Wall, they united in an agricultural cooperative, cultivated the land themselves, leased or sold it.

The Federal Highway 2 was an ancient trade route that of Regensburg on court , Dobareuth, Gefell , inch green , Schleiz by Leipzig and further led. The north German lowlands near Leipzig extends the furthest south into central Germany, from which Dobareuth still benefits today.

On January 1, 1997 Dobareuth united with the city of Gefell to form a unitary community.

economy

Today the agricultural association exists in association with neighboring towns. There is a riding stable.
