Venzka is a district of the town of Hirschberg in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia.

geography

location

On a spur-like high plateau east of the town of Hirschberg, the Saale and the border with Bavaria lies the village of Venzka and its district. The slopes are quite steep. Access is unproblematic via a well-developed road. Neighboring towns are Dobareuth , Juchhöh and Mödlareuth .

Venzka is not part of the KomBus public transport system.

geology

The corridor is located in the southeast Thuringian slate mountains. The soils are productive and safe due to the high proportion of fine soil and the high humus content. Agriculture is practiced on the plateaus, undulating plains and flat slopes. Spring troughs and narrow valley areas of the streams are grassland locations. Forest use predominates on other areas.

history

The place Venzka was first mentioned on July 24, 1348.

On January 1, 1974, Venzka and the neighboring hamlet Juchhöh were incorporated into the town of Hirschberg.
