Ulrich Rüdenauer

Ulrich Rüdenauer (born September 10, 1971 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German journalist , literary and music critic . He is the author of literary features and curator of the reading series Literatur im Schloss in Bad Mergentheim.

life and work

Ulrich Rüdenauer studied German and political science . In 2004 he received a grant from the Association of German Writers in Baden-Württemberg .

Ulrich Rüdenauer has been working as a freelance journalist since 1997, among others for the Süddeutsche Zeitung , Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Der Tagesspiegel , Badische Zeitung , Südwestpresse , Stuttgarter Zeitung , Philosophy Magazin , Deutschlandfunk , Deutschlandfunk Kultur , SWR , WDR , RBB and MDR . He is a jury member of the SWR best list .

Since 2005 he has curated literature in the castle , a series of readings in the Teutonic Order Museum in Bad Mergentheim. Since 2014 he has also curated and organized the series Jazz im Schloss , also in the Teutonic Order Museum . So far guests have been: Michael Wollny (2014), Lee Konitz and Florian Weber (2015), Archie Shepp and Reggie Workman (2016), Anke Helfrich and Angelika Niescier (2018).

In 2010 he published the volume Archive discarded possibilities: images and texts together with the production designer Naomi Schenck . Naomi Schenck's picture montages show scenes for films that have not materialized: mostly empty rooms, buildings, abandoned places. 35 German-speaking authors were encouraged to contribute their texts without any further requirements, including Helmut Böttiger , Arno Geiger , Michaela Melián , Kathrin Röggla , Stephan Thome and Wim Wenders . The archive of discarded opportunities was voted 3rd on the SWR best list in February 2011 . In the same year, she was nominated for the Hotlist , the literature prize of the independent German-language publishers.
