Naomi Schenck
Naomi Schenck (born June 15, 1970 in Santa Monica , USA) is a German production designer and author .
biography
Naomi Schenck grew up in Mülheim an der Ruhr , graduated from high school in Broich and then spent some time in the USA and Mexico. From 1991 she studied painting and set design at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf and graduated successfully in 1995.
Since 1996 she has been working as a freelance production designer for film and television productions. Among other things, she took on the art direction for Lars Becker's " Kanak Attack " (1999) and worked as a set dresser for Jonas Akerlund's film production " Spun " (2002).
As a production designer, Schenck mainly works for television productions, especially for crime series. She designed the production design for several episodes of the TV series " Der Fahnder ", for some episodes of the Münster " Tatort " as well as for two " Schimanski " films, which were directed by Hajo Gies . She was responsible for the production design in Margarethe von Trotta's family dramas "Winterkind" and " Dunkle Tage " as well as the setting in several television films by Lars Becker, including " The Wisdom of the Clouds ". Schenck designed the set for Birgit Grosskopf's youth drama " Princess " (2005) for the cinema screen .
Naomi Schenck has also been an author since 2005. She writes radio plays and texts - including a column in the FAZ's travel section - and has published a total of three books since 2010. Her hometown of Mülheim an der Ruhr awarded her the Ruhr Prize for Art and Science in 2015 .
Naomi Schenck is the granddaughter of the chemist Günther Otto Schenck . The biography of her grandfather, who died in 2003, is also the subject of her book published in 2016. Naomi Schenck lives in Berlin.
