Spielmes is a district of the town of Tanna in the Saale-Orla district in Thuringia .

geography

Spielmes is two kilometers away from Stelzen in the Schwarzbachtal near the border with Saxony and Bavaria . The district of the hamlet belongs to the southeast Thuringian slate mountains . The high proportion of fine soil and the high humus content of these soils is productive and safe under these climatic conditions. There is a good connection to the A 9 and A 73 motorways via the federal roads 2 and 282 .

history

The hamlet was first mentioned in a document on December 1, 1480. In 1928 there was an exchange of territory and a border adjustment between the Free State of Saxony and the State of Thuringia. As a result, the southern parcels of the Thuringian town of Spielmes, which came close to the town of Reinhardtswalde , were completely ceded to Saxony and incorporated into the Saxon community of Reinhardtswalde.

Around 60 people still live in the former farming village today, there is only one full-time farmer, but numerous part-time farmers. There is also an economic advisory office in the small village. It is the average “youngest” village in the Saale-Orla district.
