Hassan Yebda ( Arabic حسان يبدة, DMG Ḥassān Yabda ; * May 14, 1984 in Saint-Maurice , Val-de-Marne ) is a French-Algerian football player. He prefers to play in midfield.

Career

In the club

Yebda began his career in AJ Auxerre's youth . In 2003 he came into the first team, but could not prevail and after two years moved on loan to the second division Stade Laval . Despite relegation, he exhausted his potential and moved to Le Mans FC for the 2006 season .

After he was also successful there, he moved to the Portuguese record champions Benfica Lisbon only one year later , where he signed a four-year contract on May 29, 2008. In September of the same year he was voted "Player of the Month". He scored his first league goal against arch-rivals from the north, FC Porto .

For the 2009/10 season he was ousted by the new signing Javi García and awarded to the English first division club Portsmouth . After the "Pompeys" were relegated from the Premier League, Benfica awarded him to SSC Napoli for a year .

In August 2011 it was announced that he the Spanish first division side FC Granada changes.

During the winter break of the 2013/14 season, he joined the Serie A club Udinese Calcio on loan . He then spent the 2014/15 season at Al-Fujairah SC in the United Arab Emirates .

He was then without a club for a year and joined Belenenses Lisbon for two seasons . He has been without a club again since summer 2018.

In the national team

Yebda was appointed to the French national team for the 2001 U-17 World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago . There he completed five games of the first and second round. In the further course of the tournament he became U-17 soccer world champion with his country. In October 2009 he was appointed to the Algerian national team for the first time and made his international debut in the following World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.

He was also a regular at the World Cup in South Africa and played in all three games before Algeria was eliminated from bottom of the table. After 25 international matches in which he scored two goals, he ended his career in the national team in 2014.
