Nicat Azad oğlu Abbasov (name at the World Chess Federation FIDE Nijat Azad Oglu Abasov ; born May 14, 1995 in Baku ) is an Azerbaijani chess master .

Life

Abbasov won or occupied top places in some tournaments: 1st place at the Buslaev Memorial in Tbilisi (2007), 3rd place at the tournament in Alushta (March 2007), 2nd place at the tournament in Kharkiv (2008) and 1st place at the Zurich Christmas Open (2016).

Abbasov has held the title of International Master (IM) since 2009 and the title of Grand Master (GM) since 2011 . He met the IM standards in September 2006 at a tournament in Istanbul , in October 2007 at a tournament in Alushta and in October 2008 at the Femida 2008 in Kharkiv. He fulfilled the GM standards in July 2009 at the Matskewitsch Memorial in Kharkiv, in May 2010 at the Celin Kamen GM tournament in Niška Banja and in December 2010 at the Azerbaijanian Solidarity Day in Baku . Abbasov plays for the Azerbaijani club Odlar Yurdu , with whom he participated in the European Club Cup from 2013 to 2015 . He has been playing in the Austrian Bundesliga since 2018 for SV Raika Rapid Feffernitz , with whom he was Austrian team champion in 2019 , in Hungary he has been part of the DVTK Sport Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság team since 2018 . Abbasov played for CA GranDama Santa Lucia in the Spanish División de Honor in 2019 . In Germany he has been playing for SG Speyer-Schwegenheim since 2018 , including in the 1st Bundesliga in the 2019/20 season .

In February 2020 it reached its highest rating of 2670.
