Aydın Hüseynov
Aydın Hüseynov ( Aidyn Guseinov for the World Chess Federation FIDE ; born November 30, 1955 , † October 30, 2003 ) was an Azerbaijani chess player .
Life
Aydın Hüseynov was married to the chess player Elmira Alieva , who holds the title of International Women's Champion (WIM). His son Elmir Hüseynov is also a chess player and holds the title of International Master (IM). From 1991 to 1996 Aydın Hüseynov was the national coach of the Qatar team. In 2000 he retired from international tournament chess.
successes
He won youth championships of the Azerbaijan SSR in 1973 and 1974. In 1979 he received the title of Master of Sports . In 1982 he won the championship of the Caucasus.
At the last Soviet team trophy held by the sports associations in 1984 in Kiev , he played for the Uroshai Agricultural Workers' Club .
For the Azerbaijani national team he played at the European Championships in 1997 in Pula on the second board behind Sərxan Quliyev . At the European Championships he had an Elo rating of 2653. At the 1998 Chess Olympiad in Elista , he played on the top board. He won among others against Alexei Fedorov and played against Michael Adams draw .
In 1998 he received the title of Grand Master . His highest rating was 2513 in January 1999.
