Nicat Məmmədov (or Nidjat Mamedov ; born April 2, 1985 in Naxçıvan ) is an Azerbaijani chess player .

Life

In 1999 he was U14 European champion in Litochoro, Greece (ahead of Vugar Gashimov , Ferenc Berkes and Artjom Timofejew ). In 2002 he won the Azerbaijani U18 championship in Baku . In 2007 he won the Open International Bavarian Championship in Bad Wiessee ahead of Mircea Pârligras and came in 1st – 3rd at the traditional tournament in Hastings . Space. He was sharply criticized for his pragmatic short draws in the last two rounds of this tournament. At the Azerbaijani individual championship in 2007 in Baku he was second behind Rauf Məmmədov , the 2011 Azerbaijani championship he won. In 2013 he won the Open in Teplice .

In November 2000 he became International Master , since June 2006 he has been Grand Master . In February 2015 he is in seventh place of the Azerbaijani Elo ranking.

National team

With the Azerbaijani national team, Məmmədov took part in the 2000 Chess Olympiad in Istanbul and the 2010 and 2013 World Team Championships.

He played club chess in France in the 2007/08 season for Club d'Echecs Metz Fischer . In Iran he played for Petroshimi Bandaremam in 2005 and was team champion in 2007 with Daneshgah Azad Eslami . He also plays in Azerbaijani (for Hamkarlar and Odlar Yurdu , with whom he took part in the European Club Cup in 2013 and 2014 ) and Spanish (2008 for CA Solvay ) couches. In Turkey he played for Antalya Callispor and at the European Club Cup 2017 for Genç Akademisyenler Eğitim Kültür ve Ara .
